Mount of Apollo (Sun)
The pad of flesh at the base of the ring finger — governs creativity, self-expression, and success.
The Mount of Apollo, also called the Mount of the Sun, sits beneath the ring finger. It governs creativity, aesthetic sense, optimism, and the desire for recognition — traditionally linked to fame, success, and artistic talent. A well-formed mount suggests genuine creative gifts and a healthy relationship to being seen. Overdeveloped, it can produce vanity or extravagance; underdeveloped, indifference to beauty or a lack of drive toward recognition.
Spotting it: Look at the fleshy pad directly below the base of the ring finger, comparing its fullness to the neighboring mounts of Saturn and Mercury.

Raised — Specially able in art, in letters and in the fine arts; kind, open-handed, celebrated, a good earner, victorious, a lover of beauty, tolerant, well-off, patient in keeping to what is just, sharp-witted, eloquent and plain-dealing. Hastarekha-Bichar (1935) closes its Sun chapter with a list of illnesses it attributes to the mount: disorders of the brain, the heart, the eyes and the mouth, colds, the pox, plague, trembling of body and heart, cholera, and the fevers in which the body putrefies. This course doesn't make specific health predictions, so this is recorded here rather than used above. The chapter also states, as part of the reading for a raised Sun mount, that husband and wife will usually not get on — a prediction about someone else's marriage from one person's hand, which this course does not make either.
